1. Product Description
AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed for the toughest applications, delivering high reliability and availability. They are tailor-made to meet the specific needs of each customer and application. Built on a proven modular platform, they offer the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations.
Compliant with all relevant international standards, AMI motors are available for both Direct-On-Line (DOL) and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) operation. They feature a welded steel frame, with standard shaft heights from 400 to 630 mm, and can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
While the technical data in this catalog is based on 50 Hz, these motors operate on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. The catalog covers output powers up to 8,000 kW, while the complete range extends to 23,000 kW.
2. Mounting Arrangements
Standard mounting arrangements for AMI motors are listed below. Other mountings are available on request:
- IM B3 / IM 1001: Horizontal foot mounted
- IM V1 / IM 4011: Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards)
3. Enclosure and Cooling
IC01 / IP24
This weather-protected motor features an internal shaft-mounted cooling fan. The design limits the ingress of rain, snow, and airborne particles. The air intake path maintains an average velocity below 3 m/s and includes three acute direction changes exceeding 90 degrees to optimize airflow. The motor is protected against splashing water from any direction.
IC611 / IP55
This fully enclosed design features an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans are fitted inside and outside the casing to supply the respective cooling circuits. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC81W / IP55
This fully enclosed motor is fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC31 / IP55
This version is equipped with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. It consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC01
Features an asymmetric internal air circulation design.
4. Packaging
Standard seaworthy export packaging, including plywood or fumigated wooden cases, suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.
5. Warranty
The standard warranty is 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first. Extended warranty periods are available upon request. Please contact us for more details.
