Product Description

1. Overview

The YKK Series modular induction motor is a high-reliability, high-availability squirrel-cage induction motor designed for the most demanding industrial and mining applications. Built on a proven modular platform, it can be tailored to meet specific customer requirements and application conditions while maintaining excellent performance, durability, and serviceability.

The motor features a welded steel frame, squirrel-cage rotor, and closed-type enclosure. It supports both 50 Hz and 60 Hz operation, with synchronous speeds ranging from 500 to 3,600 rpm. Versions are available for direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting arrangements include:

• IM B3 / IM 1001: Horizontal foot-mounted
• IM V1 / IM 4011: Vertical flange-mounted (free shaft end facing downwards)
• Other mounting configurations are available upon request.

3. Enclosure and Cooling

IC01 / IP24W
This weather-protected motor uses a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake path is designed to limit airflow velocity to no more than 3 m/s, allowing heavier particles to settle. Three directional changes exceeding 90 degrees further reduce particle ingress. The motor is protected against splashing water from any direction.

IC611 / IP55
This fully enclosed design features an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans are installed both inside and outside the casing to supply the internal and external cooling circuits. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.

IC81W / IP55
This fully enclosed motor is equipped with an air-to-water heat exchanger. A shaft-mounted fan inside the casing supplies the internal cooling circuit. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.

IC31 / IP55
This version is fitted with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. It is essentially the AMI motor frame without an upper cover, providing IP55 protection against dust and splashing water.

4. Packaging

The motor is packed in standard seaworthy packaging suitable for long-distance transportation by sea or land. Packaging options include plywood cases or fumigated wooden cases.

5. Warranty

• Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
