Product Description

1. Product Overview

HXR 560 series rib cooled motors feature a heavy cast iron frame. They are totally enclosed fan-cooled motors with IC411 cooling and IP55 protection as standard. IC416 cooling and IP66 protection can be supplied as options.

This series reaches an output power up to 2,250 kW with shaft height 560. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported.
The technical data listed in this catalogue is based on 50 Hz operation only. However, the motor can run at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, with synchronous speed between 500 rpm and 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

IM B3 (Code I: IM B3, Code II: IM 1001)
Standard floor-mounted horizontal type with feet downward (horizontal foot mounted).

IM V1 (Code I: IM V1, Code II: IM 3011)
Flange mounted vertical type with flange and free shaft end pointing downwards (vertical solid shaft, flange mounted).

3. Enclosure and Cooling

Standard configuration: IC411 / IP55
HXR motors adopt a shaft-mounted external fan to use ambient air for heat dissipation. The motor is protected against dust ingress and external water jets.

Optional configuration: IC416 / IP55
IC416 cooling is an optional solution. A separate auxiliary motor drives the cooling fan, providing sufficient cooling for low-speed applications, especially when the motor is driven by variable frequency drives.

IP55 Protection

• Dust protection: Limited dust may enter the housing, but the quantity will not interfere with normal motor operation.
• Water jet protection: Water jets from any direction will not cause damage to the motor.

IP66 Protection (Optional)

• Dust protection: The enclosure is fully dust-tight.
• Water jet protection: Powerful water jets from 12.5 mm nozzle projected from any direction will not harm the motor.

IC411 Cooling Principle

• Frame surface cooling: Coolant circulates inside the motor in a closed loop. Heat transfers through the motor outer surface (together with heat conduction via stator core and other conductive parts) to the surrounding air. The ribbed frame enhances heat exchange.
• Self-circulation: Coolant flow depends on main motor speed. Airflow is generated by rotor, rotor-mounted fan or pump mechanically driven by the motor rotor.

4. Packaging

Export standard seaworthy packing. Plywood case or fumigated wooden case available. Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
