1. Product Description

The AXR series represents the latest generation of multipurpose rib-cooled motors, featuring high power density, easy configurability, and built-in serviceability. Incorporating years of manufacturing experience, these motors set an industry benchmark, achieving an unprecedented watt-per-kilogram ratio for rib-cooled motors.

The high power density allows you to use a motor one frame size smaller for a given output compared to conventional products, saving space and enabling more compact installations. AXR motors comply with major industry standards, including API 541 and Shell DEP, as well as specific customer requirements.

Built with a rugged cast iron frame, these motors feature IC411 cooling and IP55 protection as standard. They are also available with IC416 cooling and optional IP66 protection (verified by a leading independent testing organization). The AXR series covers outputs up to 1,800 kW with shaft heights ranging from 315 to 500 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting are supported. Technical data for 50 Hz and 60 Hz at synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm is provided in the catalog.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting arrangements for AXR motors include:

• Code I: IM B3 / Code II: IM 1001: Standard floor mounting, feet facing downwards (horizontal foot-mounted).
• Code I: IM V1 / Code II: IM 4011: Flange and free shaft end facing downwards (vertical solid shaft, flange-mounted).
• Code I: IM B35 / Code II: IM 2001: Foot-and-flange-mounted horizontal configuration with the flange integrated into the end-shield, one cylindrical shaft extension, and feet facing downwards.

3. Enclosure and Cooling

Standard Combinations

• IC411 / IP55: Features an external shaft-mounted fan utilizing surrounding air for cooling. The motor is protected against dust ingress and water jets.
• IC416 / IP55: Equipped with an additional motor driving the cooling fan to ensure adequate cooling for low-speed applications, particularly when powered by a variable speed drive.
• Protection Ratings
• IP55: Dust-protected (some dust may enter but not enough to interfere with operation) and protected against water jets from any direction.
• IP66: Completely dust-tight enclosure and protected against powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction.
• Cooling Method (IC411)
• Frame Surface Cooled: The primary coolant circulates in a closed circuit, transferring heat through the external motor surface (including the stator core and other conductive parts) to the surrounding medium. The surface can be plain or ribbed, optionally with an outer shell to enhance heat transfer.
• Self-Circulation: The coolant is circulated based on the main motor's rotational speed, driven either by the rotor itself, a dedicated component on the rotor, or a mechanically driven fan/pump unit.

4. Packaging

Standard seaworthy packaging for export, utilizing plywood or fumigated wooden cases, fully suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Period
