AMI modular induction motors are purpose‑engineered for the most harsh and demanding industrial applications. Built on a well‑proven modular platform, these motors ensure high reliability and operational availability. Each unit can be tailored to satisfy individual customer and application requirements while conforming to applicable international standards. Both direct‑on‑line (DOL) and variable‑speed drive (VSD) operation are supported.
AMI motors adopt heavy‑duty welded steel frames. Standard cooling‑protection combinations include IC01 / IP24W, IC611 / IP55 and IC81W / IP55. Frame sizes range from 400 mm to 630 mm. Both horizontal and vertical installation are supported.
This catalogue lists technical data under 50 Hz condition only, yet the motors can run at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz with synchronous speeds spanning 500‑3600 rpm. Catalogue power reaches maximum 8,000 kW and the complete product range can go up to 23,000 kW.
Mounting Arrangements

Enclosure and Cooling
IC01 / IP24
This weather‑protected motor is fitted with a shaft‑driven internal cooling fan. Its structural design limits penetration of rain, snow and airborne particles into electrical components. Inlet air velocity is controlled below 3 m/s so heavy particles settle out. Air flow passes through three sharp turns greater than 90° to optimise airflow performance. The motor resists splashing water from all directions. IC01 features asymmetric internal air circulation.
IC611 / IP55
Equipped with a top‑mounted air‑to‑air heat exchanger for fully‑enclosed operation. Shaft‑mounted internal and external fans circulate air for inner and outer cooling circuits respectively. Provides protection against dust and omnidirectional splashing water.
IC81W / IP55
Fully‑enclosed motor fitted with air‑to‑water heat exchanger. One shaft‑driven internal fan serves the inner cooling loop. Dust‑tight and resistant to splashing water from any direction.
IC31 / IP55
Designed with inlet and outlet pipe connections for remote cooling air supply. This configuration removes the top cover of the standard AMI frame. Protection against dust and splashing water from all directions is maintained.
Packaging
Export‑grade standard seaworthy packing. Plywood case or fumigated wooden case is adopted, suitable for long‑distance sea and land transportation.
