Featuring a robust welded steel frame, the standard shaft heights range from 400 to 630 mm, with output powers covered in this series reaching up to 8,000 kW (with the complete range extending up to 23,000 kW). While standard catalogs often highlight 50 Hz data, these motors are fully capable of operating at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, providing synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm.

The AMI series offers multiple cooling and protection combinations to suit diverse environmental conditions:
1. IC01 / IP24 (Weather Protected)
This design features a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake path is engineered with three acute direction changes exceeding 90 degrees, ensuring the average velocity does not exceed 3 m/s. This allows heavier airborne particles to settle, effectively reducing the ingress of rain, snow, and dust while protecting against splashing water from any direction. An asymmetric inside air circulation variant is also available.
2. IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Heat Exchanger)
A fully enclosed design utilizing an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. It employs dual shaft-mounted fans (inside and outside the casing) to supply separate internal and external cooling circuits. This configuration provides complete protection against dust and splashing water.
3. IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Heat Exchanger)
Designed for environments requiring liquid cooling, this fully enclosed motor utilizes an air-to-water heat exchanger. A shaft-mounted fan inside the casing supplies the internal cooling circuit, maintaining IP55 protection against dust and water ingress.
4. IC31 / IP55 (Remote Cooling Air)
This version is equipped with inlet and outlet pipes to utilize remote cooling air. Essentially functioning as the AMI motor frame without an upper cover, it retains full IP55 protection against dust and splashing water.
