Product Description
The AMI series are robust modular high‑voltage induction motors built for exceptional reliability and uptime under heavy‑duty industrial operating conditions.
Developed on a proven modular motor platform, AMI motors can be fully customised to match individual customer and application requirements. They support a wide range of complex working scenarios and allow flexible configuration for special‑purpose operating conditions.
Fully compliant with major international standards, these motors are suitable for both direct‑on‑line (DOL) startup and variable‑speed drive (VSD) operation.
Adopting welded steel frames as standard, AMI motors offer multiple standard cooling‑protection combinations: IC01 / IP24W, IC611 / IP55 and IC81W / IP55. The frame shaft height ranges from 400 mm to 630 mm, supporting both horizontal and vertical mounting installation.
While this catalogue lists primary technical data under 50 Hz, AMI motors run reliably at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, delivering synchronous speeds ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm. The power scope covered in this document reaches up to 8000 kW, and the full product portfolio extends to 23000 kW.
Mounting Arrangements
IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot‑mounted, standard configuration.

IC01 / IP24
Weather‑protected construction fitted with a shaft‑driven internal cooling fan.
The air‑inlet path is optimised: airflow velocity is controlled below 3 m/s so heavy particles settle naturally. Air passes through three sharp turns over 90°, further lowering airflow speed to the optimal level. This design restricts rain, snow and airborne debris from entering live components. It provides protection against water splashes from all directions.
IC611 / IP55
Totally‑enclosed motor equipped with an on‑board air‑to‑air heat exchanger.
Shaft‑mounted fans are installed inside and outside the housing to drive the internal and external cooling circuits respectively. It delivers full protection against dust and omnidirectional splashing water.
IC81W / IP55
Totally‑enclosed design with air‑to‑water heat exchanger. An internal shaft‑driven fan circulates air for the inner cooling loop. Dust‑proof and resistant to water splashes from all directions.
IC31 / IP55
Equipped with dedicated inlet and outlet connections for remote cooling air supply. This variant is based on the AMI motor frame without top cover. It provides dust‑proof performance and protection against splashing water from any direction.
IC01
IC01 cooling version featuring asymmetric internal air circulation.
