2. Product Description
AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed to provide high reliability and availability for the toughest and most demanding applications. Built on the motor industry's most successful modular platform, they can be tailor-made to meet the specific needs of each customer and application, offering the flexibility to adapt to highly specific configurations.
These modular induction motors comply with all relevant international standards and are available for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation. Featuring a welded steel frame, they come with standard shaft heights from 400 to 630 mm and can be mounted horizontally or vertically. While this catalog shows technical data at 50 Hz, AMI motors operate at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. The output powers covered go up to 8,000 kW, while the complete range extends to 23,000 kW.
3. Mounting Arrangements
Standard mounting arrangements include:
- IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001): Horizontal foot mounted.
- IM V1 (Code II: IM 4011): Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).
- Other mounting configurations are available upon request.
4. Enclosure and Cooling
- IC01 / IP24 (Weather Protected): Features an internal shaft-mounted cooling fan. The design minimizes the ingress of rain, snow, and airborne particles by maintaining a low air intake velocity (under 3 m/s) and incorporating three acute direction changes (over 90 degrees) in the intake path. Protected against splashing water from any direction.
- IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Cooled): A fully enclosed design with an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans drive both the internal and external cooling circuits. Protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
- IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Cooled): A fully enclosed design fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit. Protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
- IC31 / IP55 (Remote Ventilation): Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes to utilize remote cooling air. This version consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover. Protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
5. Packaging
Standard seaworthy package for export, using plywood or fumigated wooden cases suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.
6. Warranty Period
- Standard Warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
