Product Description

The AXR series rib-cooled motor is a new-generation multipurpose high-efficiency induction motor designed for demanding industrial applications. It delivers high power density, flexible configuration, and convenient maintenance, making it suitable for a wide range of drives and process equipment.

Thanks to its optimized electromagnetic and mechanical design, the AXR motor achieves higher output per kilogram than conventional rib-cooled motors. This allows a more compact installation and, in many cases, enables the use of a smaller frame size for the same output.

The motor features a rugged cast-iron frame and is available with IC411 self-cooling as standard, with IC416 forced cooling available for low-speed or variable-speed applications. Standard protection is IP55, with optional IP66 protection verified by an independent testing organization. The AXR series supports outputs up to 1,800 kW, shaft heights from 315 to 500 mm, and speeds from 500 to 3,600 rpm at 50 Hz and 60 Hz.

Mounting Arrangements

IM B3 / IM 1001: Horizontal floor mounting with feet facing downward.
IM V1 / IM 4011: Vertical mounting with flange and free shaft end facing downward.
IM B35 / IM 2001: Horizontal foot-and-flange mounting with a cylindrical shaft extension and feet facing downward.

Enclosure and Cooling

IC411 / IP55
The motor uses an external shaft-mounted fan to draw ambient air over the ribbed frame surface. The enclosure provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction.

IC416 / IP55
An independently driven cooling fan provides additional cooling capacity, making it suitable for low-speed operation or variable-frequency drive applications.

IP55 Protection

Limited dust ingress is possible but will not affect normal operation.
Water jets from any direction will not cause harmful effects.

Completely dust-tight enclosure.

Packaging
