II. Product Description

The AXR series is the latest generation of multipurpose rib-cooled motors, featuring high power density, flexible configurability, and easy maintenance. It integrates years of motor manufacturing experience and sets an industry benchmark, delivering significantly higher output per unit weight than conventional rib-cooled motors.

Thanks to its high power density, the AXR series can often use a motor one frame size smaller than conventional products for the same output power, effectively saving installation space and supporting compact installations.

The AXR series complies with mainstream industry standards such as API 541 and Shell DEP, and can also be customized according to customer requirements. The motor body adopts a heavy-duty cast-iron frame. The standard configuration is IC411 cooling with IP55 protection. Optional configurations include IC416 cooling and IP66 protection. The IP66 protection rating has been verified by an authoritative independent testing organization.

The AXR series covers a power range of up to 1,800 kW, with shaft heights from 315 to 500 mm. It supports both horizontal and vertical installation. The technical data provided in the product catalog applies to 50 Hz and 60 Hz operating conditions, with synchronous speeds ranging from 500 to 3,600 rpm.

III. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting arrangements for AXR motors are as follows:

1. IM B3 (IM 1001): Standard floor mounting with feet facing downward, designed for horizontal foot-mounted installation.
2. IM V1 (IM 4011): Flange-mounted with the free shaft end facing downward, designed for vertical solid-shaft flange installation.
3. IM B35 (IM 2001): Foot-and-flange mounting for horizontal installation, with the flange as part of the end shield, a single cylindrical shaft extension, and feet facing downward.

IV. Enclosure and Cooling System

1. Standard Configuration Combinations

• IC411 / IP55: The motor is equipped with an external shaft-mounted fan that uses ambient air for cooling. The motor is protected against dust and water jets. Some dust may enter the enclosure but will not affect normal motor operation, and water sprayed from any direction by a nozzle will not cause damage.
• IC416 / IP55: Suitable for low-speed applications, especially under variable-frequency drive conditions. An additional independent motor drives the cooling fan to ensure effective cooling at low speeds.
• 2. Protection Rating Description
• IP55: Dust protection allows limited dust ingress without affecting operation; water protection resists water jets from any direction.
• IP66: Fully dust-tight enclosure; water protection resists powerful water jets from a 12.5 mm nozzle in any direction without harmful effects.
• 3. IC411 Cooling Principle
• Frame Surface Cooling: The primary coolant circulates in a closed circuit inside the motor and transfers heat through the outer surface of the frame, together with the stator core and other heat-conducting components, to the surrounding ambient medium. The frame surface may be plain or ribbed, and an outer cover may be added to enhance heat dissipation.
• Self-Circulation Cooling: The coolant circulation is driven by the main motor speed, through the rotor itself, a dedicated cooling component directly connected to the rotor, or a fan/pump unit mechanically driven by the rotor.

V. Packing and Warranty

1. Packing

Standard export seaworthy packing is adopted. Plywood cases or fumigated wooden cases are available. The packing is suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation, ensuring that the product remains undamaged during transit.

2. Warranty Policy

The standard warranty period is 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first. If an extended warranty period is required, a customized solution can be arranged through further communication.
