Product Overview

The HXR 560 rib-cooled motors are engineered around a rugged, one-piece cast iron frame, built to withstand demanding continuous industrial service. Configured as totally enclosed, fan-cooled machines, they come standard with IC411 cooling and IP55 protection, with the option to upgrade to IC416 cooling and IP66 enclosure ratings where operating conditions require it.

The HXR platform delivers output up to 2,250 kW at a 560 mm shaft height, and can be installed in either horizontal or vertical orientation. While the catalog data is presented at 50 Hz, the motors are fully capable of running on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz supplies, achieving synchronous speeds from 500 to 3,600 rpm — making them suitable for a wide range of industrial drive applications.

Mounting Arrangements

Standard configurations are offered for flexible installation:

IM B3 / IM 1001 — Floor-mounted, feet facing downward (horizontal foot-mounted).
IM V1 / IM 3011 — Flange-mounted with free shaft end facing downward (vertical solid-shaft, flange-mounted).

Enclosure and Cooling

IC411 / IP55 — The motor is fitted with an external shaft-mounted fan that draws ambient air to dissipate heat. The enclosure guards the interior against dust ingress and water jets. Typical of dust-protected designs, a minimal amount of dust may enter, but never in quantities that could impair normal operation; water sprayed from any direction produces no harmful effect.

IC416 / IP55 — An auxiliary motor drives a dedicated cooling fan, delivering the enhanced airflow required for low-speed operation — particularly valuable when the motor is powered through a variable frequency drive.

IP66 (Optional) — The enclosure is fully dust-tight, and the motor withstands powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) directed from any angle without ill effect.

Cooling Method (IC411) — Heat is transferred from a closed internal cooling circuit through the external surface of the frame (complemented by heat conduction via the stator core and other structural parts) to the surrounding air. The outer surface may be plain or ribbed, optionally fitted with a shroud to improve heat exchange. Coolant circulation is self-driven, proportional to the main rotor speed — either through the rotor action alone, a component mounted directly on the rotor, or a fan/pump unit mechanically coupled to the main shaft.

Packaging

Each unit is supplied in a standard export-grade, seaworthy package — plywood or fumigated wooden crate — designed for reliable long-distance sea and land transport.

Warranty
