Product Overview
The AXR series is the latest generation of multipurpose rib-cooled high voltage induction motors, engineered for high power density, easy configurability, and built-in serviceability. Designed with years of electric motor manufacturing experience, these motors set a new industry benchmark by delivering more watts per kilogram than ever before achieved in rib-cooled motor designs. The high power density allows users to often select a motor one frame size smaller than conventional alternatives, saving installation space and enabling more compact system layouts.
Built with a rugged cast iron frame, AXR motors comply with major industry standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, as well as custom customer specifications. As standard, they feature IC411 cooling and IP55 protection, with optional IC416 cooling and IP66 protection verified by a leading independent testing organization. The series covers outputs up to 1,800 kW and shaft heights from 315 to 500 mm, supporting both horizontal and vertical mounting arrangements.

Mounting Arrangements
AXR motors support multiple standard mounting configurations to suit diverse application requirements:
- IM B3 (IM 1001): Standard floor mounting with feet facing downwards (horizontal foot-mounted).
- IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical mounting with flange and free shaft end facing downwards (vertical solid shaft, flange-mounted).
- IM B35 (IM 2001): Foot-and-flange horizontal mounting with the flange integrated into the end-shield, featuring one cylindrical shaft extension and feet facing downwards.
Enclosure & Cooling System
IC411 / IP55 (Standard Configuration)
AXR motors are equipped with an external shaft-mounted fan that utilizes ambient air for cooling. The IC411 cooling method operates on a closed-circuit principle: the primary coolant circulates internally, transferring heat through the external ribbed surface of the motor frame to the surrounding medium via self-circulation driven by the rotor-mounted fan. The IP55 rating provides protection against dust ingress (limited entry that does not interfere with operation) and water jets from any direction.
IC416 / IP55 (Optional for Low-Speed & VSD Applications)
For low-speed applications or motors fed via variable speed drives (VSD), the IC416 option features an independently motor-driven cooling fan to ensure adequate cooling regardless of rotor speed.
IP66 Protection (Optional)
AXR motors are available with IP66 protection, offering complete dust-tight enclosure and resistance against powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction, verified by an independent testing organization.
Packaging
All motors are packed in standard seaworthy export packaging, using plywood cases or fumigated wooden crates, suitable for long-distance transportation by sea and land.
Warranty
Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty periods are available upon request.
