1. General Introduction

YJS series compact rib-cooled motors adopt robust cast iron frames. As totally enclosed fan-cooled motors, they come with IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection as standard options. IC416 cooling and optional IP66 protection class are also available upon request.

YJS motors cover power output up to 2,250 kW with frame size 560. The motors support horizontal IM B3 mounting and vertical IM V1 mounting.

They can operate under both 50Hz and 60Hz power supply, with synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm, widely applied for fan driving and other industrial equipment.

2. Mounting Arrangements

IM B3 / IM 1001

Standard floor mounting configuration with feet downward (horizontal foot-mounted type).

IM V1 / IM 3011

Flange-mounted type with flange and free shaft end facing downward (vertical solid shaft flange mounting).

3. Enclosure & Cooling System

IC411 + IP55

YJS motors are fitted with an externally shaft-driven fan, utilizing ambient air for heat dissipation. The enclosure protects the motor against dust ingress and water jets.

IC416 + IP55

IC416 cooling system is available as an alternative. An independent auxiliary motor drives the cooling fan to deliver sufficient cooling capacity for low-speed operating conditions, especially for motors operated with variable speed drives.

Protection Class IP55

• Dust protection: Limited dust penetration is permitted, but the quantity of dust entering will not interfere with normal motor operation.
• Water jet protection: Water jets sprayed from any direction onto the motor will not cause damage.

Protection Class IP66

YJS motors can be supplied up to IP66 protection grade:

• Dust protection: Dust-tight enclosure, preventing any dust intrusion.
• Water jet protection: Powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) projected from any direction onto the enclosure produce no harmful effects.

Cooling Principle of IC411

• Frame surface cooling: Coolant circulates inside the motor in a closed circuit. Heat is transferred through the motor outer surface (together with heat conduction via stator core and other conductive components) to ambient air. The surface can be smooth or ribbed; an outer shell can be equipped to improve heat exchange efficiency.
• Self-circulation: Coolant circulation relies on the rotating speed of the main motor. Airflow is generated by the rotor itself, a dedicated rotor-mounted component, or a fan/pump mechanically driven by the main motor rotor.

4. Packaging

Export-standard seaworthy packing is adopted. Options include plywood cases or fumigated wooden packages, suitable for long-distance transportation by sea, railway or truck.

5. Warranty Terms

Standard warranty period: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first.
