Oil Pump Application Case Study in Afghanistan

This high-voltage industrial motor is specially configured for heavy-duty oil pump drive service at an onshore oilfield site in northern Afghanistan. The complete unit was delivered, installed, and officially commissioned in May 2019, supporting continuous crude oil pumping and pipeline transportation operations for the local oilfield station.

The project site features extremely harsh operating conditions, including severe arid desert climate, frequent sand and dust storms, large day-night temperature differences, and relatively weak on-site infrastructure. Such rugged environments pose strict challenges to motor insulation stability, dustproof performance, temperature resistance, and long-term operational reliability, with limited routine maintenance conditions on site.

Since commissioning, the motor has been running steadily under 24-hour continuous load conditions, fully adapting to the local tough field environment without abnormal shutdowns, overheating failures or vibration fluctuations. Long-term on-site monitoring data verifies outstanding operational stability: the motor’s vibration value is steadily maintained at 0.8 mm/s, reflecting excellent mechanical balance and structural stability under continuous heavy load. The winding operating temperature remains stable at 77°C, and the bearing temperature is consistently controlled at 68°C. All core operating parameters stay within the optimal design range, demonstrating superior insulation performance, heat dissipation efficiency and bearing system reliability.

After more than seven years of field operation and rigorous environmental and load verification, the motor has maintained zero major faults and low maintenance costs, effectively ensuring the stable and continuous operation of the oilfield pumping system. The end customer highly recognizes the motor’s strong environmental adaptability, durable quality and reliable continuous operating performance, and has given full positive evaluation on the product’s comprehensive industrial applicability for harsh Central Asian oilfield working conditions.
