Basic Introduction of IE3 Motors

IE3 motors adopt high‑permeability, low‑loss cold‑rolled non‑oriented silicon steel sheets. They feature ultra‑high efficiency, energy‑saving performance, low vibration, low noise, dependable operation, as well as easy installation and maintenance.

Optimized design, advanced materials and improved manufacturing processes — including rational dimensioning, optimized rotor slot quantity, refined fan parameters and thin‑form windings — help cut energy losses. Motor efficiency can be raised by 2%‑8%, with an average improvement of 4%. IE3 motors serve as reliable power sources for machinery such as compressors, fans, pumps and crushers, and are widely deployed in petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical and mining industries.

As totally‑enclosed fan‑cooled three‑phase asynchronous motors, IE3 motors are designed in compliance with IEC and GB standards.

The housing is constructed from grey cast iron, and steel terminal boxes are available as an option.
Motor efficiency satisfies GB18613‑2012 Energy Efficiency Class 2 and IEC60034‑30 IE3 efficiency requirements.
For frame sizes H80‑H132, the drive‑end is fitted with a skeleton oil seal; extra oil seals are optional. H160 and larger frames come with oil‑seal sealing at the drive‑end as standard.
Custom winding configurations support multiple voltage options for 50 Hz or 60 Hz operation.
Motors can withstand 1.5 times rated current for 2 minutes per IEC60034‑1.
Optional accessories include space heaters against moisture.
PTC or PT100 thermal sensors can be fitted for winding and bearing temperature protection.

Applications of IE3 Motors

IE3 motors can drive general‑purpose machinery including machine tools, air compressors, pumps, fans, reducers and conveyor belts, alongside mining and metallurgical equipment. They are intended for environments free of flammable, explosive or corrosive gases.

The rated voltage and frequency of standard motors meet Class A voltage and frequency tolerance specified in IEC60034‑1. Allowable voltage deviation: ±5%, allowable frequency deviation: ±2%.

● Continuous Rated Output
Rated output follows IEC60034‑1 requirements. Continuous operation power is defined at 40°C cooling medium temperature and installation altitude below 1000 meters. In accordance with IEC60034, this series can withstand 1.5 times rated current for 2 minutes under rated voltage and frequency.
