IE3 Electric Motor: Energy-Saving, Reliable Performance & Technical Features
Basic Introduction of IE3 Electric Motor
The IE3 electric motor is a premium-efficiency, totally enclosed fan-cooled three-phase asynchronous motor designed to meet IEC 60034-30 IE3 and GB 18613 energy-efficiency requirements. It uses high-permeability, low-loss cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel, optimized winding design, reasonable rotor-slot arrangement, improved fan parameters and refined manufacturing processes to reduce copper loss, iron loss, mechanical loss and stray loss. Compared with conventional motors, its efficiency can typically be improved by about 2%–8%, with an average increase of around 4%.

The motor housing is made of gray cast iron, and the terminal box can be supplied as a steel junction box. The insulation system is Class F, with temperature rise evaluated according to Class B, helping to ensure stable insulation performance and long service life. It adopts the IC411 cooling method, with a protection level of IP55 or IP56, and is suitable for S1 continuous-duty operation. The standard design supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz supply, and the motor can withstand 1.5 times the rated current for 2 minutes in accordance with IEC 60034-1.
For frame sizes H80–H132, the drive end is equipped with a skeleton oil seal, with an optional oil seal available. For H160, the drive-end oil seal is provided as standard. Optional accessories include a moisture-proof space heater, PTC or PT100 temperature sensors for winding or bearing thermal protection, and other customized protection devices.
